The Panchakarma Program at Mekosha Ayurveda Spasuites Retreat is a deeply transformative journey rooted in the ancient Vedic tradition of healing. It is designed as a comprehensive system of detoxification and rejuvenation, aiming to restore balance to the body, mind, and senses by eliminating accumulated toxins and harmonising the body’s natural energies or doshas.
Modern lifestyles, improper diets, lack of exercise, and genetic predispositions often disrupt internal balance, leading to toxin buildup and various health issues. Panchakarma, meaning “five actions,” addresses these imbalances through therapies such as herbal oil massages, internal oleation with ghee, purgation to cleanse the digestive tract, therapeutic enemas for colon detox, and nasal treatments to invigorate the senses.
The process begins with Poorvakarma, or preparatory treatments, which include internal and external oleation and herbal steam therapy to loosen and mobilise toxins. Based on the individual’s constitution and health condition, physicians prescribe specific Panchakarma treatments. The final stage, known as Samana or Paschatkarma, focuses on corrective therapies, personalised diet plans, herbal medications, and lifestyle practices to sustain the rejuvenation achieved.

He is a retired Joint Director at Indian System of Medicine. He was an assistant secretary at Kerala Cricket Association and also head of sports ayurvedic unit at LNCPE. I had long wanted to experience the Ayurveda and Mekosha was more than I expected. It was such an amazing experience. After 8 days of treatment, I felt less pain, brighter skin and healthier in and out. I feel reborn after spending at Mekosha. This little gem of wellness retreat is a small and luxurious boutique with relaxing ambiance. It has amazing treatments and therapies with great doctors. All stuff is really friendly and helpful. The room is large and spotless clean every day. The chef serves us great food, so I was looking for every meal! Yoga was also great and the teacher has such an amazing voice when he chants. I would love to make an annual experience to keep my wellness in this paradise!

It was my second visit after almost exactly a year. The rooms, food, services were all great as was being by a riverside But the real story is about their treatments, therapies and embracing the values of Ayurveda in everything they do. The Doctors and therapists are fantastic and I returned rejuvenated, lighter and happier.
