Once the residence of the Kadathanad royal family, Harivihar was revived in 2001 by the descendants of Dr K.P. Appu Nair and opened to wellness seekers in 2003.
Ayurveda treatments are conducted in collaboration with Sakalya Ayurveda Center, under the guidance of expert physicians and trained therapists. Treatments, lasting 20 to 90 minutes, are delivered in two dedicated therapy rooms and use classically prepared herbal medicines. Yoga is taught daily by an experienced instructor from the Sivananda Yoga School, within an octagonal hall specially designed for focused practice. Harivihar is a little gem, a wonderful and peaceful place. All the staff is nice, smiling and welcoming. They take care of the guests without being intrusive in any way and willing to accommodate all their requests. The food is delucious and the Ayurvedic treatments are professional and effective. There is the possibility of doing yoga in a dedicated room or pleasantly on the grass in the garden. A place I would gladly return to.
